Writing SF: Ways to get into print with your SF ideas and work
Mark McKergow

Room: Mandela - Fri. 9:30-10:30 am

Content

Would you like to write more about your SF work, ideas and practice? Published author Mark McKergow will be sharing ideas about what might be interesting for readers, where to start, the options for publication and some do's and don'ts. SF is a field with a lot of not-knowing... which makes it even harder to write about in normal contexts. Bring your writing projects (however nascent), experiences and ideas on what makes a great publication.

Take aways

  • The challenge about writing SF - knowing vs not-knowing and how to bridge the gap

  • What makes a good SF publication? (And what doesn't)

  • Places to publish - different options for different aims

Workshop Format

The session will be a mix of short presentation sections, discussions, pair / share activities, questions & answerts and tips for getting your work published.
